With Facebook still banned, and straits times forum getting increasingly boring, I've decided to blog again! So today, I finally went to see the big boss! A bit wierd, course even though I've been working here for quite sometime now, I've never really met him personally. Come to think of it, it's my bad. I was too paiseh to actually meet up. But the least I could do was to actually send him an email when I started working. So he was telling me about how he re-read the emails (when i need to look for a job) I sent him in January, and how time passed so fast! Then he recalled about the funny incident that lead him to meeting my parents. As expected, we began to talk about how was my time at prudential etc. He asked me if I joined the company events such as the trip or the Executive Conference, which i sadly said I didnt! Hm.. I don't know it he was hinting that I was within my rights to join them? But well, haha, nvm la! Then, about what I plan to do after I graduate. My politically correct ans was that I have plans to stay on working overseas, ( course if I say I wanna go back singapore/pru, it will lead an embarrassing silence I guess), but my parents are not really up for that idea. So he digressed a bit and said he actually encourage his children to work overseas, especially his elder daughter. So yep, the *chat* lasted for about 10 mins. Ended with him telling me to email him shld I need any help :D
What surprised me was that he sms-ed my dad right after the meeting, he sms-ed my dad, even b4 I did. But not my fault, I tried to sms to his indo HP but the stupid network down or sth, there's at least 4 failed sms-es in my outbox larh! So, yet another thing that I should learn. A person of his calibre, by right shouldn't have time for little minions like me, but he proved my guess wrong my being really sincere and down to earth! Yet another thing that I must definitely learn! So yep, that marked the end of my first meeting with him. Not sure if I should meet him just before I leave though. Maybe I'll just email him again :D
On a side note, my younger sister actually thought that my english is good??!!!?? Wah this is the first time larh! But on the otherhand, my elder sister kept laughing at me for my wierdly constructed sentences in letters. ah neh!!!! but its okay, as long as I think it can make it can liao! Was reading someone's blog, he mentioned about the way Mr B Clinton speaks. Simple, slow, clear yet highly convincing. Unlike me, who usually speak too fast, unclear and couldnt resist mixing chinese and english. I think I need to take courses in both Business English and Chinese, or How to sound professional even if you have nothing to talk about.
I spilled my teh tarik on my white shirt. VERY GOOD. and I've to meet my friends later *faintx*
I shall check on the computers to see if the files have been copied successfully. My new job, IT technician a,k,a backing up files from certain computers, then reformatting the hard drive!
